Nintendo's official website has revealed that colourful platformer de Blob 2 will launch for the Switch on August 28.

According to the listing, gamers can expect to have the option of buying a physical release or a digital version of the celebrated sequel, which weighs in at 3.1GB.

de Blob 2 was originally released on PlayStation 3, Wii, Xbox 360, and DS back in 2011, before being ported to modern consoles earlier this year. The sequel adds a much-loved two-player option that functions similarly to Super Mario Galaxy, where one player controls Mr. Blog and the other assists as Colour Underground member, Pinky.

The sequel continues the successful formula of its predecessor, with gamers having to lob paint across the sprawling Prisma City to restore life to the metropolis and unlock new areas in the process.

We thought de Blob 2 was a pretty decent platformer when it first came out, so it's probably still worth a punt today.
