Dark Souls II developer From Software is to be acquired by Japanese publisher Kadokawa, reports Gamebiz (translated by Siliconera).
In addition to Dark Souls, From Software owns the Armored Core franchise.
Kadokawa will take an 80 per cent share in the developer, with the deal to be finalised on May 21.
From Software will work alongside Kadokawa Games on the company’s core titles.
From Software CEO Naotoshi Zin commented: “With a new system, from this point on, I believe we’ll be able to make newer and more in depth games.”
