Saber Interactive has announced it’s to immortalise the famous Dakar rally in game form with Dakar Desert Rally next year.
The game promises to capture the speed and excitement of the annual off-road endurance race with a large variety of all-terrain vehicles from top manufacturers. As well as, of course, rally cars, these include motorcycles, trucks, quads and SSVs. There’ll also be 30 stages of full rally racing, teams and pilots from the official 2020 and 2021 Dakar Rally events themselves.
An extreme and vast open-world environment will be all yours for the racing. It’ll include dynamic weather and seasons, as well as a full day and night cycle. You’ll have to contend with sandstorms, gruelling rain and deep mud promising to give even seasoned rally drivers a challenge. If you’re feeling extra benevolent, you’ll even be able to tow and rescue competitors for repair points. There’ll also be challenges for both simulation die-hards and more casual racing fans, and there’s multiplayer too, of course.
