If you’ve been playing CS:GO for as long as we have, your inventory is likely stacked with skins and knives, so with the announcement of the limited test for Counter Strike 2 – you’d be right to wonder if your inventory is going to carry over.

While the limited test is only taster of what’s to come, the development team have implemented a few major changes to things such as tick rates, smokes, and game modes. Aside from that, there’s a visual overhaul to the entire game which has been long anticipated by fanatics of the tactical shooter. The game clearly has a dedicated fan-base, so let’s go over everything you need to know about whether or not your inventory is going to carry over between games.

Does your CSGO inventory carry over to Counter Strike 2?

According to the Steam Counter Strike 2 FAQ: All of your weapon finishes, stickers, and other CS:GO inventory items will be available to use in Counter Strike 2. However, this is caveated by a warning to report any inventory bugs to Valve.

Furthermore, Valve has gone ahead and stated that Counter-Strike 2 Limited Test players cannot modify inventory items within Counter Strike 2. If you do play to modify items in-game, you’re going to have to do it in Counter Strike Global Offensive.

This is good news for anyone who has spent thousands (that’s not an exaggeration) on in-game cosmetics for the game, as they will carry on over into both the limited test for the game, and the full release which is scheduled for Summer 2023.

When the time comes around make sure to check back in with us for the latest updates on Counter Strike 2, including guides on if you can sign up for the beta and how long the limited test will last.
