The beta for Booming Games’ medieval-flavoured kill-’em-up Conqueror’s Blade will go live on January 26, the company announced today. Players are now able to sign up for the taster by visiting the game’s official website.

Conqueror’s Blade features a sprawling sandbox where players take command of various armies from medieval history, showcasing their prowess in combat by beating their enemies to a bloody pulp. Players will get to grips with powerful generals, each possessing their own unique talents in battle with more skills obtainable as you level up.

What’s more, armies may contain legions of up to 40 battle-hardened, blood-thirsty warriors, who must be deployed strategically in order to maximise their potential in combat. Powerful attacks include running down your foes with cavalry charges or unleashing a volley of flaming arrows, which can potentially turn the tide of battle.

The game’s environments will be directly affected by numerous factors such as weather, time of day, and landforms, putting a damper on your travel efforts across the world. Beta players will be able to soak up Conqueror’s Blade’s clan mode, which sees the boarders of each location expand or contract depending on how battles unfold.
