A new upcoming MMORPG by the name of Chrono Odyssey has captured the attention of genre fans thanks to its first gameplay reveal trailer.

Chrono Odyssey comes to us from South Korean studio NPixel, and the trailer showcases what players can expect from this time-twisting open world RPG, that’s already drawing comparisons to games like Dark Souls and Final Fantasy. The Unreal Engine 5 powered MMORPG’s trailer showcases exploration, combat against a number of foes and what look to be giant-sized raid bosses with plenty of other player characters. Check it out for yourself below.

The game is focused around a powerful artifact known as the Chronotector – and as the name suggests, it has the power to manipulate and warp space and time to the holder’s will. It all goes down in the land of Setera, an outwardly beautiful landscape that’s become the frontlines of a war against otherworldly invaders known as the Void.

We’re told the game’s open world will be dynamic and react to the player’s actions, with the impact of your decisions and actions leaving their mark on the world. As detailed on the Xbox Wire, the game will also feature six classes – Swordsman, Ranger, Sorcerer, Berserker, Paladin and Assassin. Each of these classes will be able to equip two different weapons to switch between, offering a range of combat possibilities and options to suit your playstyle. Of course, this will be further enhanced by your use of the aforementioned Chronotector – which will let you stop and rewind time to solve puzzles, navigate the environment and even give you an edge in combat.

Naturally as an MMO co-op play will be encouraged, with real time events that many players will be able to take part in during their time with the game. Some of these will also involve huge world bosses known as Eltanius that’ll take “hundreds of players” working together to bring down.

There’s no release date yet for Chrono Odyssey, but it’s expected to arrive on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC whenever it does.
