The Call of Duty franchise continues to collaborate with all kinds of other franchises from the world of gaming, TV, and movies. The first crossover of the Black Ops 6 title involves the hit Netflix show Squid Game, much to the excitement of fans of the show and Activision’s shooter series.

With Season 1 Reloaded on the horizon, Activision has revealed the first wave of details surrounding the crossover. Once the green light is activated, players can expect a wealth of limited-time modes appearing across Call of Duty’s multiplayer, zombies, and battle royale offerings.

Squid Game modes are coming to CoD

Within the blog post sharing further details on what the mid-season update has in store, Activision confirms limited-time modes are on their way to all areas of the Call of Duty universe. In addition to modes based on the morally questionable game show, players can also get their hands on skins modelled on the masked pink hooded figures that operate the games.

Eagle-eyed fans can see the character in the middle of the image above holding a dark pink and black weapon blueprint that’s also expected to feature as part of the store bundle.

While some players are looking forward to the launch of the bundle and the limited-time modes, others aren’t convinced by the latest Call of Duty crossover. “Embarrassing skins,” comments one uninspired fan.

A sign of things to come?

The Squid Game crossover is a huge one for the start of a Call of Duty cycle. Considering the franchise has already teamed up with the likes of Fallout, Saw, and Scream, there aren’t many that haven’t featured on the virtual battlefield.

The big crossover everyone is focused on is the rumoured Halo collab which is expected to bring Master Chief to Call of Duty in a generational move bringing two of the biggest arena shooters together for the very first time. Until then, Squid Game aims to bring plenty of unique games to play.
