The first Call of Duty movie isn't even out yet, but that hasn't stopped Activision Blizzard Studios from snapping up Joe Robert Cole to pen the script for the film's sequel.

Cole shot to fame as the writer behind the Marvel juggernaut Black Panther, and has since gone on to secure work on Netflix's Failsafe. Right now he's the only name attached to the Call of Duty movie sequel.

The first Call of Duty movie is set to go into production at some point next year, although a cast has yet to be announced. Stefano Sollima will be directing the project.

In addition, Stacey Sher and Nick Van Dyk, presidents of Activision Blizzard Studios, will serve as producers of the Call of Duty film, and will be joined by Activision Blizzar bigwigs Bobby Kotick and Coco Francini.

That's about all we know so far, with Activision yet to confirm if the film will be a direct adaptation of a specific Call of Duty game.

They're definitely spoilt for choice, though. There's the World War II, Black Ops, and Modern Warfare arcs to choose from, to name but a few.
