Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War‘s undead horde-shooting Zombies mode will be going free for a week to celebrate the launch of the new Cranked gametype, Activision has announced.

As previously revealed, Cranked gives all players a timer that starts counting down to their demise from the moment they kill their first zombie, which must be topped up by slaying more of the undead lest your Operator meet an explosive end. You can also keep the timer at bay by grabbing the Cranked Timer Power Ups that will randomly appear on the map, which will temporarily freeze the timer for your whole squad.

For those on PlayStation, they’ll also get to play the format timed-exclusive Zombies Onslaught mode during the free week, which sees you and one other person restricted to a smaller area of the Zombies maps fighting off hyper-agressive waves of the undead. There’s also specially tough enemies thrown in known as Elites that you and your partner will have to contend with to earn medals.

The Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies free access period will run from January 14 to January 21 with the client available to download from your console’s online storefront of choice on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC.
