Call of Duty : Black Ops 3 has been knocking about for just over two years now, but that hasn’t stopped developer Treyarch from releasing a new update for the futuristic first-person shooter today.
Black Ops 3 update 1.27 isn’t just a rudimentary bug-squashing patch either; it adds both a brand new map and game mode for the game in the shape of Redwood Snow and Infected, respectively. There’s also some ‘general performance updates’ thrown into the mix, although these were not detailed.
Redwood Snow, rather obviously, features chilly weather conditions on a familiar setting while Infected picks one player as the infected who must then go and pass on his affliction to others. To win, you must either infect everyone on the map or survive depending on your role.
We rather enjoyed Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 when it hit stores back in late 2015, and needless to say were pretty chuffed to hear murmurs that this year’s entry in the long-running franchise will be none other than Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. Fingers crossed.
