Hudson Entertainment has announced Bomberman Live: Battlefest, the follow-up to the critically acclaimed and highly successful downloadable title Bomberman LIVE, which has sold over 500,000 copies.

Bomberman Live: Battlefest will feature the same frantic 8-person online multiplayer action, as well as a host of all-new features, including teams, new modes, new arenas, new power-ups, new costumes, and the ability to use an avatar as a playable character.

“It’s Bomberman time again, and we’re thrilled to give fans another instalment with much-demanded new features,” said Sabine Duvall, Vice President of Digital Download at Hudson Entertainment. “Bomberman is one of the most beloved figures in gaming and it’s a blast to continue the legacy of this fun and frenetic classic with Bomberman Live: Battlefest.”

In Bomberman Live: Battlefest, players will be able to choose from more arenas than ever, including an Adventure Island-themed arena, a shape-shifting MultiMaze and a Pirate Ship crashing through the waves. With the all-new team play feature, 2-4 players can join up and battle other teams online.

Players will also be able to customise their own Bomberman by choosing from a plethora of new costumes, as they mix and match pieces of Napoleon Bombaparte, Chef Bombardee, Sir Bombalot and more.

New power-ups including the cluster bomb, rocket bomb and laser bomb and new game modes VIP, Bankroll, Capture the Flag and Capture the Crown, also promise to ensure there’s something new for even veteran Bomberman fans.

Bomberman Live: Battlefest is scheduled for release this winter on Xbox LIVE Arcade.
