After the previous two Modern Warfare games have been largely disappointing, all eyes are on Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 to reignite the spark in the franchise. Although we are still a few weeks out from being able to get our hands on the beta, everything that we’ve seen so far points to it having the potential to be one of the best entries in the series since the franchise was rebooted in 2019.
Like previous Black Ops titles, Black Ops 6 will feature a Zombies mode, one of the most popular modes in the series as players look to mow down hordes of the undead. It looks like Activision and Treyarch will be overhauling the mode and bringing one of the most engaging and exciting entries seen so far.
Popular Call of Duty Zombies YouTuber MrDalekJD recently uploaded a video that shares details on a new feature that will be added to Black Ops 6 for the first time. The new feature will add death scenes to the game, showing your character being devoured by the undead when you fail the mission.
MrDalekJD revealed in the video that Activision has “added game over outros so whenever you die fully, there will be a small in-game cut scene that plays showing the last zombie that killed you tearing away at the body of your [character].” This seems very reminiscent of games such as Resident Evil, which often shows a scene of your character being killed by the enemy. In the original games, this was usually a black screen with your character being devoured by zombies. More recently, the cutscene plays before the game over screen, such as when Mr X crushes the skull of your character in Resident Evil 2 Remake.
This is only a small addition to Black Ops 6 Zombies but it is a great quality-of-life change that will add more immersion to the mode. Currently, most of what we know about the Zombies mode is through blog posts and trailers. It is unlikely that the mode will be playable during the upcoming beta, so it will be a while before we get to see some player footage and get a glimpse of how it will look when we can all jump in this October.
The video from MrDalekJD contains a lot more information regarding Zombies, which you can check out below.
