Finally, after a long time of waiting, Black Myth Wukong is set to come out very soon. For many it’s the most anticipated game of the year let alone just this month. It looks absolutely fantastic, and gamers planning to play Black Myth Wukong on PS5 should be pleased with the reported graphics modes options.
The release date for Black Myth Wukong is scheduled for August 20th. For PlayStation, it will only be available on the PS5. In addition to this upcoming story based on a legendary Chinese tale, August is home to the release date for Star Wars Outlaws as well as the launch of Madden NFL 25.
We’ve been eagerly anticipating Black Myth Wukong ever since it was first announced in 2020, and we only have to wait a couple more weeks for it to launch. Developer Game Science has announced that the game has gone gold, and a Chinese insider has revealed the graphics modes available for PS5.
Black Myth Wukong PS5 graphics modes
According to Chinese insider and journalist, Lunatic Ignus, Black Myth Wukong is “very optimised” for the PS5. The often reliable insider claims it will have the following options available:
- 1440p/60FPS
- 2160p/30FPS
This hasn’t been confirmed by Game Science, but Lunatic Ignus is often accurate with their insider reports. Aside from PS5, the experience will also be available on PC and Xbox Series X/S. Seeing as this post relates to PS5 only, it’s unknown if the same graphics modes will be available for Xbox.
Reacting to the reported graphics modes on Reddit, one of the replies says this is “Amazing news,” while another comment says, “1440p, 60fps is brilliant news. I wish more dev teams would target this resolution with their performance modes”. Despite the good news, some players are also cautious and are waiting confirmation from Digital Foundry upon their review.
In addition to the reported options, Game Science has just announced that development on Black Myth Wukong is complete. On the BlackMythGame Twitter account, the developer posted, “We’re thrilled to announce that the full development of #BlackMythWukong is complete, and the game will be released as scheduled” on August 20th.
Although development is complete and the game has gone gold, Game Science is still “working hard on the final stages of experiencing, testing, and deploying the game”.
