Update: The new series of Time Commanders hosted by Gregg Wallace begins tonight at 9pm on BBC4.

Original report: Historical battle series Time Commanders, which featured virtual battles recreated using Creative Assembly’s Total War series, is returning for a third season on BBC4, and you could be on the show.

“Time Commanders, the popular historical military strategy series, where teams go head-to-head with some of the greatest generals from history, is back for a third series and we’re looking for teams of three to take part,” reads the blurb on BBC.

“In each show, two teams of three friends, family, or colleagues will take control of opposing ancient forces, facing our computer, pre-programmed by our historical experts, before they face off against each other in one of history’s biggest battles.”

The Total War twitter account has confirmed the game’s involvement in the show, though it’s not clear which version of the game will be used.

Those who wish to be considered for the show have until September 1 to apply, with details over on the BBC.
