Turtle Rock and Warner Bros have dropped a launch trailer to mark the launch of next week’s first Back 4 Blood expansion, Tunnels of Terror.
The co-operative zombie shooting action heads underground for this first full DLC, with new PvE areas set in a cave system underneath Evansburgh. The trailer and DLC introduces two new cleaners to our motley crew of survivors by the names of Sharice and Heng. One’s an axe-wielding firefighter, and the other is a restaurateur who’s handy with a knife.
Tunnels of Terror also introduces the new PvE activity Ridden Hives. Up to four players have to make it through seven areas infested with Ridden in one piece, including three new ‘Warped’ Ridden. They include Urchins, who can wreck your day with a well-placed landmine, Shredders and Rippers. You can also earn these new Ridden, as well as the new Cleaners, for use in the game’s PvP modes.
Elsewhere, the expansion also adds seven new legendary weapons, eight exclusive character skins, 12 weapon skins, a bunch of new cards and more. The expansion’s release also coincides with the arrival of a new super-hard No Hope difficulty, which will be added as a free update for everyone regardless of if you own the DLC.
The Tunnels of Terror expansion arrives in Back 4 Blood on April 12, and you can get it either on its own or as part of the game’s Season Pass. As a bonus, only the leader of a party needs to have purchased the expansion for all members of that party to be able to play too.
