Talented Grand Theft Auto fans are already mapping out next year’s GTA 6 before launch. As part of the ongoing GTA mapping project, fans are working on an accurate, detailed map of the upcoming open-world game.
GTA 6 Mapping Project
With GTA 6 still more than a year away from release, fans have banded together to map out the upcoming game before launch. Using the game’s official reveal trailer, a few released images, previous leaks and fan speculation, multiple maps can now be looked at and studied for the next Grand Theft Auto.
Available to see right here, the GTA mapping project allows you to overlay multiple different maps to compare and contrast. With maps frequently updated and added, the mapping project is currently the best way to analyse the upcoming GTA game’s map.
One of the coolest features of the mapping project is the tracking of buildings and locations from both official trailers and leaked gameplay. Clicking on a building will give you more details about the location. For example, clicking on the location for the game’s Hotel Neptune tells you its real-life equivalent, the Shore Park Hotel.
Furthermore, the mapping project website also allows you to compare the current GTA 6 maps against the GTA V map. Currently set to scale, the compiled GTA 6 map already appears to be more than double the size of its 2013 predecessor. While still in its early stages, the map project is still an extremely cool fan project.
The Waiting Game
At the time of writing, Rockstar has yet to confirm a GTA 6 release date. However, the game is reportedly scheduled to launch in 2025 on Xbox and PlayStation, but the PC version will release sometime later.
GTA publisher Take-Two is also expecting negative reviews from gamers at launch due to the inclusion of a female protagonist. In response, the publisher has already asked players not to review bomb the game when it finally releases.
