Speaking to Gamesbeat, Atari CEO Fred Chesnais revealed that video game mainstay Atari is making a brand new games console, saying ‘we’re back in the hardware business.’

While Chesnais didn’t go into the nitty gritty of it all, he did confirm that this new system does use PC-based tech, and that Atari is currently working on the design.

Atari’s last foray into the console market was back in 1993 when the Jaguar was on the market for a mere three years.

All we’ve gotten so far is the video you can watch below that teases a new bit of kit called the Ataribox. You can head to the official website to register for more info at a later date.
