The PS4 and Xbox One versions of hardcore racing sim Assetto Corsa have been delayed to June 3, 505 Games has announced. The game had previously been due to release on April 22.
The delay will "ensure the console release delivers the most polished experience for simulation racing fans," 505 says, and deliver "precision accuracy across every aspect from the meticulous car handling to the laser-measured tracks".
Last month, developer Kunos Simulazioni confirmed that it was targeting 1080p for the PS4 version and 900p for the Xbox One version. Both will run at 60fps.
"We fought a lot to have full HD also on Xbox One, but there's no way for us to do it," said co-founder Marco Massarutto. "Forza did a very good job - but they have dedicated libraries. Regardless, they did a really good job. When I played the game, I thought 'wow'. They've done such a good job with the visuals."
DiRT Rally's chief game director later told VideoGamer.com that he believed Assetto Corsa would be a "wake-up call" to some of the bigger games in the genre, like Gran Turismo and Forza Motorsport.
