Ubisoft has confirmed over the weekend that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will be getting a level scaling update from Tuesday, July 27.

As per a tweet from the game’s official account, you’ll be able to choose from five different options. Top of these will be a new “Nightmareish” difficulty, offering up an extra challenge for those who want it. Earlier this month, the studio also confirmed it would be adding a new one-handed sword option with the next update.

The next major expansion for the game sees Eivor and company make their way to France in The Siege of Paris. While a date has not yet been set for the expansion, fan account CriptAssassini on Twitter (spotted by NME) seems to have uncovered a screencap of a potential date of August 5, although this could be a placeholder.

Following that, Fall will see the historically focused Assassin’s Creed Expedition Tour entitled Viking Age, free for all current owners of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. The studio also revealed during Ubisoft Forward back in June that the game will be getting more expansions in its second year, in a first for the series.

As for the future of the series, that’ll take the form of Assassin’s Creed Infinity which was revealed as a new live service platform earlier this month. Last week, meanwhile, we found out Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Art Director Raphael Lacoste has departed Ubisoft to join original AC director Jade Raymond at Haven Studios to work on their new PlayStation project.
