Ubisoft has rolled out the latest Assassin's Creed Odyssey update, increasing the level cap to 70 and introducing a new instalment in the Lost Tales of Greece series in the process.

The update is pretty substantial, and includes a wealth of fixes and other quality-of-life improvements for the acclaimed stealth-action title. Photo Mode has been fine-tuned, issues that have prevented the Mercenary Live Events from appearing have been given the boot, and various issues have also been ironed out that resulted in quests not being completed.

Aside from that, Ubisoft has also been poking and prodding the visuals and AI, while the UI has also seen some improvements. NPCs or animals will no longer set players on fire, which is a bit of a relief.

Finally, there's a 'smart loot' system in place, which basically means you'll receive gear that is more in line with your playstyle. Be sure to check out the lengthy patch notes here.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey was released on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One in early October, and it comes highly recommended by yours truly

Ubisoft is planning a pretty extensive post-launch slate for the stab-happy adventurer, including a remastered version of Assassin's Creed III, which will be fully overhauled with 4K visuals. Aside from that, expect new missions starting with next month's Legacy of the First Blade.
