The Assassin's Creed Odyssey release date has been leaked ahead of Ubisoft's E3 press event tonight, with the stealthy sequel pencilled in for an October 5 launch on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One.

Considering this puts it out roughly a year after Assassin's Creed Origins, we can only assume that, at least for the time being, Ubisoft has decided to jump back into its annual release schedule for the series.

The info comes following the publication of a vidoc that was due to go live after Ubisoft's presser. It's since been taken down, but VG247 managed to spot a load of details before it was removed.

Reportedly, Odyssey lets you control either a male or female protagonist, who are said to have connections to the First Civilisation. They also share the same storyline.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey indeed takes place in Greece, and once again fully embraces the same RPG elements seen in its predecessor. So, expect levelled enemies to duke it out with and hitbox-flavoured combat.

Also showcased in the video is ship combat, although that's not surprising seeing as how Origins also briefly dabbled in this area.

Expect more on Assassin's Creed Odyssey at Ubisoft's press event later this evening, where we'll hoepfully get out first gameplay footage.
