We’ve had a glimpse of the visual improvements coming in Alan Wake Remastered thanks to screenshots on the game’s Amazon listing.
As spotted by Wario64, the shots give us a good idea at the scope of the spit and polish we can expect given to the 2010 adventure. They include suitably shadowy shots of Alan in battle with the Taken, showing off the new lighting effects in action.
More shots reveal the previously promised upgraded character models, including Alan speaking to best buddy Barry in the diner. Enterprising users on Twitter have helpfully provided side-by-side comparisons of some of these scenes, so you can really peep those visual upgrades.
It’s the second such online-store related leak for the game. Listings spotted at the weekend on a Taiwanese retailer first brought the upgraded release to light. An official announcement swiftly followed on Tuesday care of Remedy head honcho Sam Lake.
There’s still no formal release date yet for the game. While the Rakuten listing claimed an October launch, Amazon UK only reports a placeholder date of December 31, 2021. The official line is that Alan Wake Remastered will release in Fall 2021. It’ll be coming to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC.
