- We expect Airport Sim to launch on August 1, 2024, at 12 AM local time for Xbox consoles.
After launching on PC last October, AirportSim is finally making its way to Xbox consoles this August. This advanced airport ground handling simulator lets you carry out activities developed with inputs from real-world airport crew. From securing an aircraft to fueling it and handling luggage at an airport, there’s a lot to look forward to. Here’s when the game launches in your region and what you can expect from it.
Our AirportSim Xbox Series X release time estimate
AirportSim will be released for the Xbox Series X|S consoles on August 1, 2024. As games tend to drop on the Microsoft Store at 12 AM local time, we expect this to be the case for the simulator game from developer MS Games and publisher Iceberg Interactive. This might also mean that switching to the New Zealand region could potentially let you access the game earlier than intended.

What to expect from AirportSim on Xbox Series X
The simulator lets you execute tasks in true-to-life airports, complete with accurate ground layouts, plane parking, lines, and gate numbers. These range from the Vagar and Keflavik airports to the Warsaw Chopin airport. As for the planes you can tinker with, you get to check out the ground procedures and operations of the Airbus A320 Neo and Boeing 737 Max.
Planes aren’t the only vehicles in the game. Pick from fuel tankers, baggage carts, and stairs as you perform standard routines and ensure the airport’s smooth functioning. The developers have partnered with established airlines like Wizz Air and Norwegian Airlines to deliver an accurate representation of how these procedures work. The latest trailer is a snapshot that shows how these systems come to life.
Naturally, weather is an important factor when it comes to deciding how to run an airport. Live weather conditions mapped with the METAR system let you deal with real-time effects. Or you can choose from presets to make your task easier. There are multiple game modes to test your mettle as well, from standard scenarios to challenges that pit you against other players on a scoreboard. You can also invite friends to tag along or play in Free Play to explore the airport at your own pace. Expect refined controls for the Xbox controller as well. Just don’t expect any flight stick experience akin to that in Microsoft’s Flight Simulator.
