Ad Infinitum, the upcoming World War I horror game, is going to come out on April 20th, 2023. And publisher Nacon has released a new gameplay trailer for the game.

First things first, check out the trailer below:

The description reads:

“The boundaries between nightmare and reality, between truth and lies, have been shattered as all hell breaks loose! Play a German soldier haunted by the horrors of the Great War. Terrible creatures, death traps, and insane mysteries mark your path through the battlefield. Overcome them to save your soul and tear the veil of more sinister truths.”

It’s a neat premise, playing as a German soldier. And, aside from the fact that the First World War was a horror in itself, it seems odd that we haven’t had many actual horror games set there. We have the upcoming Gerda: A Flame in Winter, which is from developer Don’t Nod. (I’m looking forward to that.)

The last game to be set there was 11-11: Memories Retold, from developer DigixArt. I liked that game, when I played it:

“What it does demonstrate is the failure of any medium to truly capture the frenzy and farrago of war. Putting a gun in our hands was never going to do it, but the machine gun fire in 11-11: Memories Retold is different.”

Ad Infinitum is out on April 20th, 2023. It will be on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC.
