Adrenaline-pumping racer Burnout Revenge has been added to Xbox One's ever-growing backwards compatibility lineup, Microsoft mouthpiece Major Nelson has announced.

Originally released on Xbox and PlayStation 2 in 2005, Revenge was later ported to the Xbox 360, and it's this version that has been buffed with Xbox One support. While adhering to the same principles as previous games (i.e. drive as fast as possible and use your car as giant metal battering ram), the game introduced a few new gameplay wrinkles into the mix, including traffic checking, vertical takedowns, and Traffic Attack mode.

Anyway, you know the drill by now. If you own Burnout Revenge on Xbox 360, just pop the disc into your Xbox One and you can start burning some serious rubber. If not, you can just buy it from the Xbox Store for a tenner.

It seems that backwards compatibility is proving rather popular with gamers as of late, with Microsoft recently confirming that the service has drummed up nearly one billion hours of playtime to date.
