Microsoft has declined to comment on reports that a new, enhanced version of Xbox 360 is in the works, featuring a cooler 65nm processor and an HDMI port.
As we reported last week, an unnamed Xbox insider told Engadget about the updated console – codenamed Zephry – and also claimed a 120GB Xbox 360 hard drive was on the way, presumably so owners could store more movies and TV shows downloaded from Xbox Live Marketplace. A plausible photo of the new console, complete with HDMI port (to hook up to your HD TV) was posted as well.
However, when we contacted Microsoft today a spokesperson said: “We have not announced a new iteration of Xbox 360 and we do not comment on rumours.”
To be honest, that’s the response we were expecting and at least it’s not a flat denial. Stay tuned to Pro-G for the latest developments on this story.
