Mobius Final Fantasy, the first console-quality Final Fantasy game designed for mobile devices, will launch on August 3 for iOS and Google Play, Square Enix has announced.

Mobius has been created by an all-star team including producer Yoshinori Kitase and writer Kazushige Nojima, best known for their work on Final Fantasy VII.

The story sees a man wake up in a world called Palamecia with no memory of his past. There, he finds himself tasked with bringing hope to the world by unravelling a mysterious prophecy around the legendary warrior of light.

You can pre-register for the game from today to receive FFX themed items, such as Tidus’ signature weapon, Brotherhood, and other special rewards when the game launches.

Mobius will be free to play, supported by in-app purchases.
