The first games to be released by EA will be Half-Life 2: Game of the Year Edition and Counter Strike: Source, both due to launch this winter. Half-Life 2: Game of the Year Edition is a special edition release containing Half-Life 2, Counter-Strike: Source, plus Half-Life 2: Deathmatch and Half-Life: Source. Additionally the Half-Life 2 Xbox port will also be released under EA and is expected in October.

Now that EA have their hands on Valve’s games does this mean we can expect to see yearly sequels to the Half-Life series with tweaked gameplay and improved character animations, as well as the latest roster of enemies? Joking aside, all we expect EA to do is help sell even more copies of the game by using their immense marketing clout.
