  • Combine four modules to create a new one at Silion’s post in Albion’s west wing.
  • This process costs Gold and the resulting item’s rarity is influenced by which mods were combined.

While you earn modules just by clearing missions and taking down enemies, you can combine them to earn better ones in The First Descendant. While this option isn’t unlocked right at the start, you’ll quickly gain the ability to do more with your duplicates than just dismantle them. Combining them will let you get more items without grinding missions or boss fights. It’ll let you double down on your character’s strengths pr compensate for their weaknesses. Here’s how you can do this in the game.

Where can you combine modules?

You can combine modules at Silion, the Module Master of Albion. His post is located in the west wing, right of where Magister Anais can be found. Here, you can interact with him and pick the Combine Modules option. You can find his location marked on the map below. Scroll through the images for a clear understanding of how you can combine these items.

Here’s how you can combine Descendant and weapon modules to create new ones:

  • Pick any four modules from your collection and use some Gold to combine them via the Combine button.
  • This will result in you getting a single item that has a chance of being better than the ones you just combined. It’s particularly helpful when you want new items that can fit with your current build. For instance, a Viessa build could benefit from lower Skill costs.
  • Sort your mods by quantity so that you can use up your duplicates first.
  • Remember that the final result’s rarity will not be lower than the rarity of the lowest item you use in the combination process. For instance, four Transcendant mods will most likely give you a Transcendant one after the combination.
✓ Antony’s tip

Remember to enhance your Sub attack mod to increase your maximum mod capacity.

Is it worth combining modules?

Based on our time with the game, we don’t think it’s worth spending Gold to combine your items. You’re better off dismantling them for Kuiper Shards as they can enhance your existing items. New ones drop often so you can find new options for your build by naturally playing the game instead of combining items and hoping for a positive outcome. Remember to keep an eye on the module types as they can affect specific weapons, abilities, or character abilities. For instance, one item lets you use more Ice Spheres in combat as Viessa.

Expect this feature to come in handy later on when you start earning Transcendant items. These are character-exclusive so you might want to combine them for a shot of getting one for your character. But note that it costs more Gold to combine these items based on what rarity they are. But if you’re still in the early game, stick to dismantling them for now.
