Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown has a ton of cars for you to choose from, but at the very start of your playthrough, you’re not going to have access to all of them. Instead, once you complete the tutorial section, you’ll have to choose between a set of starter cars to begin your journey with.

Your starter car is going to be with you throughout the first few hours of Solar Crown, so you’re going to want to make sure that you make the right choice. That’s where we come in. We’ve taken a look at all the available options to tell you which is the ideal choice for you.

What starter car should you choose in Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown?

There are a total of three starter cars available in Solar Crown, and you’ll be required to choose one of them after completing the opening section in the Lamborghini Huracan. These are:

• Alpine A110 Legende
• Ford Mustang GT
• Nissan 370Z

These cars all have their pros and cons, but we think that the Nissan 370Z is he best choice. The Mustang is the fastest of the three, but with so many tight corners to navigate on the streets of Hong Kong, its poor handling is noticeable. Conversely, while the Alpine’s great handling makes it a better choice early on, it lacks in speed, so will become obsolete fairly quickly. 

The balance provided by the Nissan makes it the ideal choice as it gives you enough handling to be able to navigate the tight corners you’ll come across early on, but is also fast enough that you’ll be able to keep using it for a while, and not need to upgrade your car as early on as you would have to with the Alpine.
