The Tears of the Kingdom Reede’s Secret side adventure can be a frustrating one to solve if you’re in the wrong place at the wrong time. This side adventure involves talking to certain people at certain times of day, so if you’re just out, you might be wondering what you’re doing wrong.

Tears of the Kingdom Reede’s Secret side adventure walkthrough

To start this side adventure, you’ll need to have already started the mayoral election storyline. This involves meeting both the mayor, Reede, and Cece, the clothes designer, in Hateno Village and waiting for them to agree to a mayoral election.

Once the election is underway, head over to the house in the southwest of the village, across a small bridge. From the pictures on the walls, you’ll learn that this house belongs to Zelda. In the house is Reede’s wife, Clavia, who will tell you that she’s keeping the house clean while Zelda is away. You will have to do this during the day, as Clavia returns home in the evenings.

Clavia will tell you that Reede has been acting very strangely since the election began, and that he locks himself in his shed every evening. She’ll ask you to find out what he’s up to. Head up to their house to the northeast and you’ll find that the shed is locked. From here, head north where you’ll find a well. Jump down and take out the monsters you find here.

Make your way in the direction of the shed, breaking any rocks that you find in your path using a hammer or some bombs. If you have the adventure active in your Adventure Log, you can use the marker on your minimap to guide you. Once you’re underneath the shed, use your Tears of the Kingdom Ascend ability to climb up into the shed. Make sure you do this during the day while Reede isn’t in the shed.

Once inside, read Reede’s journal to find out that he’s been working with a local farmer to create vegetables with Cece’s clothing designs on them to try and appeal to younger people. Head back to Clavia with the news to complete the quest and receive some tomatoes as a reward.
