Where can you find Bladed Rhino Beetles in Tears of the Kingdom?

Bladed Rhino Beetles can be found in various locations around Hyrule, but are most commonly found in two locations. These are Bronas Forest, north of Lakeside Stable in the Necluda region and Retsam Forest, east of Hateno Village, and north of the Hateno Tech Lab.

In order to find Bladed Rhino Beetles, a few conditions must be met. First, they only spawn at night, and secondly, they do not spawn during rain. If it’s not night or it’s raining, find or build a campfire and wait until both conditions are fulfilled.

Once it’s a dry night, head to one of these locations, and there should be Bladed Rhino Beetles on the trunks of some of the trees. They will fly away if you aren’t careful, so it’s recommended to use stealthy armour such as Tears of the Kingdom Yiga Armour, or a stealth elixir. This will make catching the beetles much more consistent.

From trying out both locations, we’ve found that the beetles are more common in Bronas Forest, with the trade-off being that it rains more often. Try out both locations and see which one works best for you.

You can also find these beetles as a drop from Evermeans, those walking trees you may have come across. This is a rare drop, though, so you probably shouldn’t bother trying to farm them.

What are Bladed Rhino Beetles used for?

Like other insects, Bladed Rhino Beetles can be used in elixirs. Cooking a Bladed Rhino Beetle with monster parts will produce a Mighty Elixir, which will give Link a temporary attack boost.

They are also a required material for the final upgrade to the Barbarian Armour. This armour set provides attack boosts, so fully upgrading each piece is a worthwhile endeavour. Each piece requires three Bladed Rhino Beetles to upgrade to its max level.
