The Weird Pot is one of six arch-artifacts, legendary altered items like the Weird Water that confer exceptional benefits, but also downsides. In keeping with other altered items throughout the Zone, the Weird Pot is exclusively found in the Mist anomalous area, one of the six arch anomalies in the game. Instead of just running into the anomaly and grabbing the artifact, there’s quite an opaque and obtuse puzzle that involves a shifting house, locked doors, and the odd Bloodsucker to spice up proceedings. In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to get the Weird Pot artifact in Stalker 2.
Where to get the Weird Pot artifact in Stalker 2
To get the Weird Pot artifact, you’ll need to visit the Mist anomalous area, an arch anomaly located in the southeastern corner of the Burnt Forest region of the Zone. The anomaly consists of a large mist cloud that drastically reduces visibility making navigation tricky.
Mist anomaly solution
Enter the Mist and walk towards the center until you come across a small wooden house. Approach and you’ll be ambushed by a Bloodsucker. After dealing with it, explore the outside of the house and you’ll notice that you can’t get behind the front room of the house and the door at the end of a flight of stairs leading to a basement are blocked. Break the glass in the window to the right of the front door. Shoot the wooden planks blocking the hole in the ceiling in the back corner of the room to let down several crates.
Head back into the fog and find the house again, which will be slightly different, namely the front door is completely blocked and the door at the bottom of the stairs is now clear. Head down into the basement and into the cave ahead where you’ll find a Door Key on the floor next to the skeleton of a stalker. Press on into the next cave chamber and take a left up to find an exit leading up into the house. Shoot the padlock on the door to the right and go through the door, then through another on your right. Look up and you’ll see a hole leading into the attic. Leave the house through the now open front door and go back into the mist.
Find the house again. Enter through the front door then go through the door straight ahead. Jump on the crates to reach the attic, then drop through the hole at the back. You’ll find the Weird Pot artifact in the furnace stove jutting out to the center of the room. Exit the house, run into the fog, and keep going forward in a straight line to leave the Mist anomaly.
Weird Pot stats and effect
Unlike run-of-the-mill artifacts like the Whirlwind, the Weird Pot doesn’t have any clear, defined buffs and debuffs in its item description. Instead, all we get is this cryptic blurb: ‘Although the pot is empty, steam is always wafting from beneath its lid. This item helps to allay one’s thirst and hunger, but be careful: the Zone’s gifts can be unpredictable.’ In real terms, equipping the Weird Pot reduces Skif’s food needs and hunger, but eating anything can cause strange side effects like dizziness, hallucination, and radiation damage.
