While a Boomstick and later on a M860 Cracker should live up to your shotgun needs in the early game, you’ll eventually want to graduate to something that packs a bigger punch. Among the best early-game shotguns you can get your hands on is the Predator Shotgun, one of the unique weapons in the game. As a one-off, it’s unlikely you’ll come across it organically out in the wild, chiefly because getting it involves getting into a locked room. In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to get the Predator Shotgun in Stalker 2.

To get the Predator Shotgun, you’ll need to visit the Izumrudne point of interest in the northeast of the Zaton region of the Zone. Izumrudne is a small hamlet consisting of several dilapidated wooden shacks and an outdoor amphitheatre stage made of a huge slanted piece of sheet metal. The area is prowled by a Bayun mutant that you’ll want to deal with before going for the weapon. Rather fittingly, a couple of slugs from a shotgun is the best way to deal with one of these cat-like mutants.

Head to the slanted roof. Below it you’ll notice a green door that’s unfortunately locked, however, we do want to get into the room behind the door. To get inside, you’ll need to go to the back of the building to the slanted roof. Climb up to near the top of the roof where you’ll find a hole. Drop through the hole to reach the inside of a small room attached to the base of the slanted roof. Look around for a blue safe, inside of which you’ll find the Predator Shotgun.

The Predator Shotgun is essentially a souped-up M860 Cracker with an 8-slug magazine and higher damage output. Here’s the item description: ‘Formerly belonging to Trapper, this custom-built pump-action shotgun was designed to meet the owner’s specific request for a significant boost in lethality.’
