Running a dedicated multiplayer server in Satisfactory sometimes comes with connection problems. Different errors can pop up for various reasons, especially after an update. That can lead to an error message like “Encryption Token Missing” or “No Encryption Token”. Fortunately, there are simple ways to fix the problem.

Steps to fix Encryption Token Missing error in Satisfactory

This error message usually appears when you try to click Join Game from the main menu of the game. However, the trick is that you have to use the Server Manager option instead. But that’s not all. Follow these steps as well:

  • Go to your router settings and select the appropriate port settings.
  • Open port 7777 (game port) and set forwarding to UDP + TCP
  • Open port 15000 (beacon port) and set forwarding to UDP + TCP
  • Open port 15777 (query port) and set forwarding to UDP + TCP
  • If you are the server host, make sure you don’t have the “-multihome” string in your launch options.

After that, launch Satisfactory again and join the server through the Server Manager. This will clear up any errors and avoid the “Encryption Token Missing” message. Additionally, it should help double down on avoiding the “Failed to connect to server API” error as well.

What is the Encryption Token Missing error?

The Encryption Token error is likely happening because of the changes between updates, specifically to the way multiplayer servers work. With the addition of the Server Manager, it’s now easier to play on a dedicated server. However, some of the old ways are obsolete and can cause errors like this one.
