Need to know how to evolve your Porygon into Porygon 2 and Porygon-Z in Indigo Disk? The Pokémon Scarlet and Violet DLC Indigo Disk has tons of Pokémon to evolve, but it can be tough to do it if you don’t know how.

With over 200 Pokémon in the Indigo Disk Pokédex, not all of them will be easy to find. And that’s true of Porygon’s evolutions, Porygon 2 and Porygon-Z. While many evolutions are completed through regular leveling as you make your way to the Elite Four, some require more work. If you’re looking for how to evolve Porygon, we’re here to give you all the details.

How to evolve Porygon into Porygon 2

To evolve Porygon into Porygon-2, you’re going to need the trade the Pokémon while its holding the Upgrade item.

The Upgrade item can luckily be bought in the School Store for 250 BP. You can earn Blueberry Points from completing Blueberry Quests. Simply head to the entrance of the academy, and head up to the School Store level. Interact with the Shopkeeper and purchase the Upgrade.

Now that you have the Upgrade, give it to your Pokémon to hold. Open your bag and find the Upgrade. You can’t use this item on Porygon, so make sure to choose to hold the item.

The next part requires another player, whether a friend or a stranger. The only thing left to do is to trade Porygon to another player, and the Pokémon will evolve into Porygon 2. However, it now belongs to another player. This is why we recommend trading with friends, so you know they’ll trade you your newly evolved Pokémon back. Another option is to trade with a player whose trying to get Porygon 2, and you can both trade Porygons holding the Upgrade item.

How to evolve Porygon into Porygon-Z

The process for evolving your Porygon into Porygon-Z is identical to the one for Porygon 2, but instead of the Upgrade item you need the Dubious Disc item.

This evolution item can also be found in the School Store, costing the same amount, 250 BP.

Give the Dubious Disc to your Porygon to hold, and trade the Pokémon to another player to have it evolve into Porygon-Z.

If you want them for free

Both the Dubious Disc and Upgrade items can be found in the different biomes of Terarium if you want the item for free. However, they can take a while to scour for. The quickest and easiest option is to simply buy them from the School Store.

Porygon 2 vs Porygon-Z weaknesses and abilities

Both Porygon 2 and Porygon-Z are weak to Fighting-type moves, and are immune to Ghost-type moves. However, they do vary in terms of their abilities:
