Due to the fact that Magnemite was one of the original Pokemon of Generation I, it and its evolutions have been featured prominently throughout the Pokemon series. Where to find Magnemite

Magnemite can only be found in certain parts of the eastern portion of Paldea.

Specifically, Magnemite can be encountered in:

  1. East Province (Area Two)
  2. East Province (Area Three) 

Magnemite can also be encountered in Tera Raid Battles. It can be fought as a 2 Star Raid encounter.

How to Evolve Magnemite into Magneton

Once you obtain a Magnemite, you will have to train it until it reaches level 30 where it will then evolve into a Magneton. Magneton is the result of three Magnemite being bound together by a strong magnetic force, hence its apparent look.

If you’d like to skip the training part, you can encounter Magneton in the Dalizapa Passage or on Glaseado Mountain. They can also be fought in 4 Star Raid Battles.

How to Evolve Magneton into Magnezone

A Magneton can be evolved any time into a Magnezone by using a Thunder Stone on it.

Magnezone takes the form of a cool looking UFO that incorporates the looks of its previous evolutionary incarnations.

In previous games, Magneton used to be evolved into Magnezone by leveling up in areas with special magnetic fields such as Mount Coronet and Chargestone Cave. However, in recent games, no such areas are available. Instead, Thunder Stones will finally work on Magneton and can be used to evolve them.

Comparing Stats Of Magnemite Evolutions

Right off the bat, Magnemite has a decent stats in Special Attack. Its further evolutions will keep getting higher stats in Special Attack, making the Magenemite evolutionary line great users for Special type moves such as Discharge and Flash Cannon.

All of the Magnemite evolutions suffer from a fatal weakness that is a 4x weakness to Ground type moves.  This can be alleviated somewhat by the skill Magnet Rise which is accessible to Magnemite and all of its evolutions. Magnet Rise makes the user immune to Ground type moves for 5 turns.

Another further advantage that this evolutionary line has is the ability Study, which prevents them from being knocked out by just one hit.

Final Thoughts

Magnemite and its evolutions have a very interesting typing in Electric/Steel. It provides a good amount of resistance to many types but leaves them open to many common attacks from Fighting or Fire types and heavy damage from Ground types.
