How to get Combee
Combee is an extremely easy to find Pokemon, even by regular Pokemon Scarlet and Violet standards. The flying and bug type Pokemon can be found flying around most areas in the Southern Province of Paldea.

The area that has the highest chance of encountering Combee, however, is Area 2 of the South Province, which is located right outside of the western gate of Mesagoza. Even if you already have a Combee then we recommend you still take note of this, as you most likely will have to catch another Combee. Make sure to a catch a female Combee, as only females can evolve in Vespiquen.

Coincidentally, if you would rather instantly catch a Vespiquen instead, then the evolved form of Combee also roams around the same Area 2 of the Southern Province, as well as Area 6 of the same province. Additionally, the queen bee can also be found in the Northern Province’s areas 1 and 2.

One thing to remember is that if you see a Vespiquen, then chances are it’ll be surrounded by multiple Combees. Similarly, if you see a swarm of Combees, then a Vespiquen will most likely be nearby.
How to evolve Combee into Vespiquen
While Combee evolves into Vespiquen by training it to level 21 and letting it evolve naturally just like a wide majority of other Pokemon do, there’s a unique catch.
The thing is, the Pokemon Vespiquen can only be a female. Therefore, only a female Combee can evolve into Vespiquen. If a male Combee reaches level 21 or even goes up to level 50, the evolve option will never appear.

To check whether a Combee you come across in the wild is a male or female, take note of the symbol next to a wild Combee’s level after initiating a battle. If it’s pink then you’ve got yourself a female Combee.

For those who want to check in the overworld without having to battle every wild Combee they come across, one very distinct difference between a male and a female Combee is that female Combees have a pink dot at their center.

While Combee doesn’t require any special item or weather conditions to evolve into Vespiquen, having to catch a low level female Combee despite having a male Combee sounds tedious and infuriating.
