The Early Access for Path of Exile 2 has rolled out and aRPG fans have flocked in droves upon the shores of Wraeclast. The game has been released on several platforms simultaneously, so there are both PC and console players populating the servers. But can the two groups co-mingle and party up to play together? We’ll explain everything you need to know about PoE2’s crossplay and cross-progression functionality.
Can you play Path of Exile 2 in crossplay?
Yes, there is full crossplay support in Path of Exile 2. Unlike its predecessor which allowed crossplay only between PC and Mac, and PlayStation and Xbox respectively, there are no such limitations this time around. You can freely group up across all platforms, meaning that PC and console players can all wreak havoc together. With the maximum party size of six characters, there is no excuse not to get together and play with friends… unless we count SSF characters, of course. You can add any of your friends through the game’s Social menu by finding their character’s name and sending a request to party up. It’s as simple as that.
Is there cross-progression in Path of Exile 2?
Yes, Path of Exile 2 offers cross-progression, regardless of the platform. All your characters and progress will be saved and usable on PC and console interchangeably – as long as you’re using the same GGG account, that is. So make sure to log in with the same credentials and you’ll be able to cross-progress without issues. In addition, all your MTX are tied to the same account, so as long as you’re logged in, you can show off your paid-for bling through any platform. Admittedly, not all MTX effects have been transitioned from PoE1 to the sequel, but we can expect that the library will gradually expand during the Early Access.
