Auras and similar effects have been changed in the transition between the original Path of Exile and PoE2. Now, instead of reserving Mana or Life, you have to use Spirit, a separate resource that you need to collect and manage to gain access to these skills. Each class has plenty to choose from, though you’re very unlikely to have enough Spirit to hold them all at the same time. Thus, you have to pick and choose which ones to activate. We’ll explain how to gain these auras, now called Persistent Buff Skill Gems, and list all of them for each Path of Exile 2 class in Early Access.

How to get Persistent Buff Skills?

Similarly to how you use Skill Gems and Support Gems, to obtain Persistent Buff Skills, you need to get Uncut Spirit Gems. There are a few permanent campaign bonuses that guarantee that such a gem will drop – notably, the ones that grant you extra Spirit. Other than that, you can get them as drops from monsters (usually of higher rarity) and by trading with other players. Once you get an Uncut Spirit Gem, you can use it to get the Persistent Buff Skill Gem from within your class and of the same or lower tier as the gem you used.

Some of the six classes currently available in Early Access don’t have access to all their Persistent Buff Skill Gems (or Spirit Gems, as they’re usually called by the players). Those will be listed as “Coming Soon” within their cutting menu. In addition, the six unreleased classes are also missing their Gems, as would be expected.
