Crawling with armed bandits, Sunbury Middle School is no longer the place of learning it once was. No worry for us though as it contains a welcome helping of crates and loot to snap up. There’s even an optional side quest called A Gift Overdue, that involves a little treasure hunt.
It starts with a cryptic note found on the second floor of the main school building. A few blue quest markers will then pop up, guiding you to three other notes, each with a clue to figuring out the code. It’s very similar to the High Banks passcode and the Boy Just Wanna Have Fun side quest.
Sunbury Middle School passcode
The Sunbury Middle School code is 5897. You can get it by paying attention to what’s written in each of the notes you’ve found throughout the settlement. These are all marked on the map so should be easy to track down. For ease, they are located in BN Mart, the swimming pool, and the lecture hall. Here’s what each note reveals:
- Note #1 An Overdue Gift quest marker – Mentions that the first number of the code is 5
- Note #2 BN Mart – Says that the second digit of the code is 8
- Note #3 swimming pool – Mentions that the pool closes at 9
- Note #4 lecture hall – Refers to a lecture series that ended in July, the 7th month in the year

From there, it’s simply a case of chaining the numbers together. There’s even a quest objective in the top right that tells you to enter 5897. Head to the last quest marker and input the code into the glowing stack of papers. You’ll get one final note called A Letter to Annie, along with x10 Stellar Planula, x1 Cortex Level 2, x500 Energy Link, x105 Battle Pass Exp and x1000 Exp. Not the most impressive haul, but decent enough for an easy 5 minute detour through the school.
