If you’re looting all the areas around the map, you may encounter the no access to rift anchor issue in Once Human. This is a story blocker problem for players getting a little too far ahead of the story. Here’s everything you need to know to avoid encountering that issue again.

Once Human no access to rift anchor issue fix

To avoid getting the no access to rift anchor error in Once Human, you need to do the following:

  • Continue the main story that takes you to the main NPC settlement of the region you’re in.
  • Defeat the Monolith boss of the previous region.

The issue largely depends on one of two issues. The first is that you are simply behind in the main story and have a hit an invisible progression wall that prevents you from activating rift anchors. To solve this, simply continue with the main story and you’ll naturally reach new regions as and when the game dictates is appropriate.

The second reason for the issue is tied to how rift anchors relate the main boss of that map region. You need to complete a portion of the area to access the boss. You may be stuck because you haven’t defeated the previous region’s Monolith Boss. You need to defeat it to move on to the next area’s tasks and complete the rift anchors. Make sure you complete the minimum of the previous area and advance the main story to the next area before trying the next landmark challenges and rift anchor activations.
