Once Human is the latest survival game to blow up thanks to being free to play and having a huge open world. But right now, with the game not being available on consoles, players are forced to play the game on PC, begging the question of whether they’ll be able to use a controller to play.

We’ve written up a quick guide to tell you everything you need to know about Once Human controller support, including whether or not there is controller support, and if not, when we can expect it to be added to the game.

Does Once Human have controller support?

Unfortunately, Once Human doesn’t have controller support at the time of writing. While the game was seemingly confirmed to have controller support on release thanks to a post from the developers on X (formerly Twitter), this has turned out not to be the case. A follow-up post several days later confirmed that due to technical adjustments, there would be no controller support on launch.

But don’t be disheartened, as all isn’t lost yet. The very same post confirms that the development team is working hard to ensure that controller support makes its way into the game as soon as possible. So if you’re waiting for controller support before playing the game, you probably won’t have very long to wait for it.

While official controller support hasn’t been a part of the game thus far, there was previously a workaround during the Once Human betas. Players could add it to Steam as a non-Steam game, letting them effectively use a controller to mimic certain keybinds in-game, but with the full release this isn’t an option anymore.

In the meantime, players will just have to make do with a good old-fashioned mouse and keyboard, unless of course, you would prefer to wait to see the game come to consoles, but who has time for that?
