- Cargo Scramble is a PvP public event available in both PvP and PvE servers
- Players duke it out to earn Sproutlets
- Sproutlets are then used to buy skins, consumables, and legendary mods from Nisa in one of the major hubs
Cargo Scramble is an PvP public event available on both PvP and PvE servers. The general gist is that you need to gun down a Rosetta truck to immobilise it. Once it’s stopped moving, a player is ‘chosen’ by the Seed of Life and gets a fancy jellyfish helmet. From there, the players take turns, battling it out against each other to score Sproutlets, a Once Human currency used to buy mods from NPC Nisa.
Got that? It’s a lot simpler in action and is basically a big messy free-for-all. We’ll walk you through how to join and earn rewards in Cargo Scramble. For more help, check out our selection of top tips and tricks.
How to join Cargo Scramble
To join Cargo Scramble, you’ll need to keep an eye out for a red truck symbol on the map, which marks the public event. The truck spawns randomly as far as we can tell, so you may have to wait a bit for it to appear, but generally, they pop up fairly regularly. Underneath the truck icon, you’ll see a percentage, which denotes how much damage is needed for the truck to stop moving and for the event to start.
Head to the truck and inflict as much damage as you can to destroy it. Stay within the area once it stops moving and you’ll automatically join the event. One player becomes the infected host. If that’s you, gun down any other players that attack while keeping an eye on the Infection Countdown at the top of the screen. If you’re not the host, then aim to kill the player with a jellyfish on their head as quickly as possible. You’ll get Sproutlets for killing other players but also if you run down the countdown as the infected.
Cargo Scramble rewards
For participating in a Cargo Scramble event, you’ll get a drop that includes the Sproutlets you’ve earned along with a few other materials, typically Acid. Remember to loot the rock with the red beam coming out of it when the event ends to claim your rewards.
How to use Sproutlets
To use your Sproutlets, head to any of the major hubs (Meyer’s Market, Tall Grass Inn, Deadsville, and so on) and talk to Nisa. Enter her shop to see a list of wares that you can buy for Sproutlets. These include skins, legendary mods, and consumables like Acid and Fuel. The legendary mods cost 1,000 Sproutlets each, so don’t come cheap. You’ll likely need to take part in several Cargo Scramble events to earn enough to purchase a mod.
