Marvel Rivals continues to grow with a roster that is now stacked with 37 characters with the arrival of the Fantastic Four in Season 1. The game’s blend of Marvel comics and dynamic gameplay has grown with players tuning in to beat Steam charts.
As Season 1.5 begins with Human Torch and The Thing, the community’s focus shifts to leaks hinting at an X-Men-packed future. Dataminers have discovered a goldmine of unreleased heroes, including mutants like Cyclops, Emma Frost, and Gambit, sparking speculation about an X-Men takeover.
According to trustworthy sources such as X0XLEAK, NetEase has a solid pipeline in the works, with over 20 characters under production, more than half of which are related to Professor X. The excitement grew this week with new voice lines from Wolverine and Psylocke, virtually guaranteeing Emma Frost’s Season 2 arrival alongside Blade. The real surprise, however, is Phoenix—Jean Grey’s fiery alter ego—whose leaked skills and voice lines have led to speculation about her appearance in the upcoming season.
When will Phoenix come to Marvel Rivals? Leaks and abilities explored
Jean Grey aka Phoenix is rumored to be released in Marvel Rivals in the upcoming Season 2 which releases in April 2025. The season will be themed after the iconic Hellfire Gala from the comic books that will bring stylish outfits to the game.
Furthermore, voice lines for Phoenix were leaked with interactions with Storm, Rocket, Namor, and Magik. Here are all the lines that were spoken by the characters addressed to Phoenix:
- Storm: My Oldest Friend ; Yes Jean, we need all your power.
- Rocket: Hey, I’m looking for a giant tree and some humanoid morons. You seen them? They’re kind of my only friends. ; Whoa! When?
- Namor: Then perhaps it’s time for me to rise above and to reduce those foes who could not be drowned to ashes.
- Magik: The Phoenix won’t be gone for long. ; That’s what we need Phoenix.
When it comes to Phoenix’s abilities, a NetEase dev has revealed that Jean Grey in Marvel Rivals will have two forms when she’s released in the game. Her abilities are as follows:
- Base form – Psychic block: Mutes enemies/prevents abilities for 3 seconds.
- Phoenix form – Resurrection: Burns the area for 5 seconds before respawn.
Players are hoping for Phoenix and Cyclops to be the power duo released in Marvel Rivals Season 2 as they are befittingly a part of the Hellfire Gala in the comics as well and now that a Krakoa map is rumored to arrive, it would be the perfect battleground for the X-Men to rise in Marvel Rivals.
