If you’ve been playing Marvel Rivals, there’s a good chance you’ve earned a Celestial Codex, a curiously fleshy collectible sided by a cryptic description that doesn’t shed all that much light on what it is or. It doesn’t appear to do anything for the time being, making it a rather mysterious addition to your inventory. In this guide, we’ll walk you through the Celestial Codex and what it might teasing for the future.
What is the Celestial Codex?
The Celestial Codex is a reward item you can collect in Marvel Rivals for hitting a specific achievement point milestone. For now, this item is purely a collectable and doesn’t do anything for the time being. However, it does have links to Knull, who this may be teasing as a future playable character or potentially even a future threat.
The items description reads: “Just like the Codex left in one’s Body after a Symbiote bonds with its host, the gods corrupted by Knull also possess this remnant. One of these Divine Codices, the Celestial Codex, is one of the more special in existence, as it has absorbed the same chronal energies that have stirred in Knull from his imprisoned slumber. Now, his trapped essence seeks to rejoin its progenitor.”
Knull is the God of the Symbiotes in the Marvel Universe. He’s closely linked to Venom and has already been mentioned in Marvel Rivals a few times. For now, this item is purely a collectible. We’ll have to wait and see if it means more in the future.
How to get the Celestial Codex in Marvel Rivals?
To get the Celestial Codex, you’ll need to earn 40 Achievement Points in the Chronoverse Saga section. You can check out Achievements by following these steps:
- Go to your profile in the top right of the screen
- Navigate across to the last tab called Achievements
- You’ll find the Chronoverse Saga at the bottom
Achievement Points are earned by completing the challenges listed in the Chronoverse Saga menu.

One of the more awkward achievements is Veni Vidi V…?, which requires you to find the Celestial Codex in Klyntar and spray it to earn five achievement points. The Celestial Cortex is easy enough to find. You must be playing the Klyntar: Symbiotic Surface map. If you’re on the attacking Convergence team, the Celestial Codex is behind you in your first spawn location. If you’re defending, you’ll have to wait until the map reappears. Unfortunately, there’s no way to dictate when you get this map, so luck will play a part.
