What are the best weapons to use in Lords of the Fallen?

Here are our top ten best weapons in Lords of the Fallen, ranked from great to greatest.

  1. Anvil Hammer
  2. Fallen Lord’s Sword
  3. Split Crossbow
  4. Bloody Glory
  5. Saint Latimer’s Relic Spear
  6. Sacred Resonance Hammer
  7. Bringer of Stillness Sword
  8. Hallowed Knight Sword
  9. Hushed Saint’s Halberd
  10. Throwing Hand

Let’s explain our choices in a bit more detail, and what makes all of these weapons so good.

10. Anvil Hammer

Something of a pun, this weapon is simple in its design – it’s a long stick, with an anvil stuck on the end, in effect becoming the hammer.

The Anvil Hammer is classed as a Grand Hammer, yet takes a fairly modest 18 Strength and 8 Agility to wield. Its attacks are wide, slow, and powerful, able to deal massive amounts of physical damage even before your upgrade the weapon. What really earns it a place on this list though is its reach. The Anvil Hammer’s length allows it to hit targets from a significant distance, often outside of their own melee range. This makes it surprisingly great for crowd control or one-on-one fights, and it’s even a decent option for the unprepared in PvP.

Where to find the Anvil Hammer

The Anvil Hammer can be found early along the Path of Devotion. You’ll need to make your way to this path first by opening up the route with the Pilgrim’s Perch key, after which you’ll need to make your way through and get to the Vestige of Dieter. From here, head onto the path until you reach a steep but small hill. Defeat or run past all of the nearby enemies, and you’ll find the Anvil Hammer resting at the top of the hill.

9. Fallen Lord’s Sword

If you have an affinity for fire in Lords of the Fallen, this weapon will quickly become a firm favourite. The Fallen Lord’s Sword is a Grand Sword with a fearsome size and heavy hit. What makes it particularly great is its fire damage. You’ll need 30 Inferno just to properly wield this weapon, but in exchange you’ll inflict both physical and fire damage on impact. The blade also scales well with Inferno, starting out at C+ even before upgrades. It also benefits greatly from wide swinging arcs, allowing it to deal efficiently with multiple targets. Like the Anvil Hammer, it’s main drawback is its slow speed.

Where to find the Fallen Lord’s Sword

You can find this weapon in Lower Calrath. Head to the tower section which leads up to the topside bridge street – it’s the one leading to the arena where you’ll need to fight and beat Spurned Progeny. Instead of following the tower section up to the flaming street, head around the wooden scaffolding until you come to a suspension bridge. This bridge will take you to a burning tower, at the top of which rests the Fallen Lord’s Sword.

8. Split Crossbow

Time for a ranged weapon now. Crossbows are already pretty excellent pieces of kit, but the Split Crossbow stands out. While it does require 19 strength to wield, this crossbow scales well with the stat, reaching a B- by +5. It deals exceptionally high damage, and boasts fantastic range. Although its reload speed isn’t amazing, it’s rarely a hindrance when used carefully, and with the right ammunition, it can easily deal huge damage to enemy combatants.

Where to find the Split Crossbow

The Split Crossbow can be found in Lower Calrath, right above the Alehouse Vestige in fact. Once you’ve made your way to the tower section we mentioned previously, you’ll have an option to explore downwards, on a path which eventually leads back to the Vestige. Along this path, you’ll be able to get into the rafters. The Split Crossbow is on a wooden beam directly over the Vestige.

7. Bloody Glory

Time for another Grand Sword – this one acting as something of a counterpart to the Fallen Lord’s Sword. Bloody Glory deals physical and holy damage. Combined with its size and power, this makes it a devastating foe for servants of Adyr to face. It boasts large, diagonal swings which allow it to take on significant crowds at once, and charged attacks with this weapon can inflict severe poise damage, allowing you to stagger enemies sooner. It also boasts surprisingly high blocking stats, outpacing the damage mitigation of even some medium shields. It’s only drawback is its stat requirements – Bloody Glory demands 20 Strength and 32 Radiance to be properly wielded.

Where to find Bloody Glory

You can find this blade on your way to the Path of Devotion. Once you reach the section with a holy knight Pureblade praying by a small altar, head up the stairs. Keep heading up until you reach a large cavern at the top with several dogs and other powerful enemies in it. The Bloody Glory sword can be found in the corner.

6. Saint Latimer’s Spear

Our first boss weapon on the list, Saint Latimer’s Spear is a fantastic choice for people seeking to upgrade their polearm game. As a spear, this weapon boasts magnificent melee range, granting you nearly unparalleled control of the spacing and pacing of a fight. Saint Latimer’s Spear also deals both physical and wither damage, and costs a mere 13 Strength and 13 Radiance in stats to wield. As a final bonus, it also scales pretty well with both strength and radiance stats, beginning at a C- in both.

Where to find Saint Latimer’s Spear

You can find Saint Latimer’s Spear at Molhu, by buying it from Latimer’s Remembrance after you defeat him just prior to entering the Forsaken Fen.

5. Sacred Resonance Hammer

The Sacred Resonance Hammer is another Grand Hammer, and it’s got some qualities belying its size. Dealing both physical and holy damage for a 25 Strength and 18 Agility asking price, this weapon’s real power comes from its surprising speed. For its size and weapon class, the Sacred Resonance Hammer can attack quickly, allowing you to overwhelm foes with a brute force approach, especially once upgraded. If there’s one drawback to this weapon, it’s probably the severe stamina cost per swing.

Where to find the Sacred Resonance Hammer

This one isn’t too hard to find, but can be a pain to get depending on your level. From the Bellroom Vestige, open the door with the Pilgrim’s Perch Key and follow the path along. Instead of going past the Pureknight at the altar, take a left into the large cavern. Here, you’ll fight a boss called The Sacred Resonance of Tenacity. He’ll drop this hammer on defeat.

4. Bringer of Stillness Sword

If you’re after a fast weapon, this may be the best pick for you. The Bringer of Stillness Sword asks for only 12 Agility, and starts with a C- scaling for that stat. It’s a pretty lengthy weapon, with good reach, a highly varied moveset, and both physical and wither damage, it’s already got the qualities of a great weapon. But on top of all this, the blade is exceptionally fast, striking easy but effective combos in exchange for substantial stamina. If you’re a fan of dual-wielding, this is an especially great weapon to choose. You may also find it suits your tastes perfectly in PvP.

Where to find the Bringer of Stillness Sword

You can find this sword by farming it from Umbral Reapers – the hooded ghost guys with the scythes for arms. They can be tough opponents, but they’re not impossible to overcome with patience. You can also always consume a Lucky Paw to boost your item discovery rate.

3. Hallowed Knight Sword

This is the least flashy, most basic weapon on our list, yet it finds itself so far up – why? Simply put, this weapon asks for little and delivers much. It deals pure physical damage, and balances a moderate reach with a moderate speed for reliable, routine damage. Requiring a 12 in Strength and 8 Agility to wield, it’ll be accessible to most who come across it by the time they do. It pairs excellently with a shield, has a varied moveset of swipes, stabs and lunges, scales well with Strength, and ultimately remains a reliable choice throughout much of the game.

Where to get the Hallowed Knight Sword

This is perhaps the easiest of these weapons to get. You can obtain it from the start of the game if you choose to play as the Hallowed Knight – though we’d argue it starts to shine more a little later into the game. You can also buy it from Stomund, Captain of the Fidelis, from Skyrest Bridge.

2. Hushed Saint’s Halberd

The Hushed Saint’s Halberd is a devastating weapon, and one you’ll witness firsthand when fighting the boss of the same name and getting pummelled by it. In exchange for 19 Strength and 16 Agility, you’ll be able to bring a massive raw physical damage potential to bear on your enemies. It can lunge, swipe and sweep, and this varied moveset is enhanced by an enormous reach that few other weapons can match. On top of all that, the polearm also inflicts debilitating poison damage on contact.

How to get the Hushed Saint’s Halberd

The Hushed Saint’s Halberd is another easy one to get. Just defeat the Hushed Saint in the Forsaken Fen, get his Remembrance, which we’ve covered how to do in our boss weapons guide, then buy it from Molhu.

1. Throwing Hand

Despite how it may seem, we have good reasons to put your own hands at the number one spot. Throwables in Lords of the Fallen work on the same principles of other ranged weapons. This means that they aren’t one-use consumables, rather, once you pick one up, you’ve got that throwable forever, and can replenish it with ammo pouches and satchels. The Throwing Hand is therefore so good because of the sheer range and size of ammunition you’ve got available to you. You can throw out Empyrian Grenades to inflict holy damage on enemies, Cursed Effigies for fire damage, Lump Hammers for physical, and so on. You’ve also got access to javelins for an even greater punch. This includes powerful support variants like the Banner Javelin of Assault, which will boost your damage and stamina within a given radius where it lands. The throwing hand is the ultimate tool of versatility, and while not as directly useful as standard melee weapons, is unparalleled in its support capabilities.

Where to find the Throwing Hand

To find the Throwing Hand, just create a character. As long as they have hands, they’ll be able to use the Throwing Hand.
