Hexwork’s new soulslike RPG is pretty big, and it’s got a lot of areas to explore. But it’s not always clear where you should go and in what order when trying to complete the game.

Here, we’re going to outline a Lords of the Fallen progression route, listing the major areas and the order you should aim to visit them in. This will in effect lead you through the game. It’ll be a challenging journey though, so make sure you know how to upgrade weapons, socket runes, and test out the best builds to make your life easier.

What order should you progress areas for Lords of the Fallen?

Here’s the order we recommend completing areas in to finish Lords of the Fallen.

  1. Defiled Sepulchre
  2. Redcopse Village
  3. Skyrest Bridge
  4. Pilgrim’s Perch Ascent
  5. Pilgrim’s Perch Descent
  6. Forsaken Fen – Beacon activation
  7. Fitzroy’s Gorge
  8. Lower Calrath
  9. Sunless Skein Mines & Upper Calrath Mining District
  10. Upper Calrath – Beacon activation
  11. Manse of the Hallowed Brothers
  12. Tower of Penance – Beacon activation
  13. Fief of the Chill Curse – Beacon activation
  14. Abbey of the Hallowed Sisters – Beacon activation
  15. Upper Calrath return
  16. Bramis Castle

Keep in mind that these are our suggestions, and don’t need to be taken as law. Once you have the Pilgrim’s Perch Key and have completed your journey through Calrath, the path opens up significantly, giving you far greater control over where you go next and when.

Lords of the Fallen area level recommendations

Making sure you level up is crucial if you want to get through this game smoothly. While we’ve covered the best farming spots for this, here, we’ll quickly outline level suggestions for each major area of the game.

  • Sepulchre to Skyrest – Your game has just started. Even armed with the best class and best starting weapon, level 5-10 should be sufficient.
  • Pilgrim’s Perch – You’ll want to aim to be level 10-15.
  • Forsaken Fen – Aim to reach level 20-30 for this expansive area.
  • Fitzroy’s Gorge – Level 30-35 should be sufficient here.
  • Lower Calrath – You’ll want to be around level 40-45 here. We’d recommend 45+ and an investment in Vigor to help you beat Spurned Progeny.
  • Sunless Skein Mines & Mining District – Aim to hit level 50 by this stage.
  • Upper Calrath – Level 55 should be enough to see you through this area.
  • Manse of Hallowed Brothers – Level 55-60 is recommended here.
  • Tower of Penance – We’d suggest level 60-65 for this area.
  • Fief of the Chill Curse – Level 60-65 should also be sufficient here.
  • Abbey of the Hallowed Sisters – Aim for Level 70-75 for this area.
  • Upper Calrath Return – You probably want to be around level 80 here.
  • Bramis Castle – Try to reach at least level 90 for this area.
