When you visit the huntsmen Vostatek’s homestead in the east of the Trosky Region for the first time, you’ll find out upon talking to his wife Zlata that he’s gone missing. You might also reach the house as part of the Mutt quest after helping out the shepherd. This kick starts the Lackey side quest. It turns out the huntsman has an intimate relationship with the drink, which may be the reason behind him not coming home, but his wife senses something more sinister is afoot.
From there, you left to scour the hunting grounds – a large area to the north of his home – for the man, which can make finding him tricky. You can talk to his son Vitek to narrow down the search area, but it requires a skill check that has a good chance of failing. In this guide, we’ll walk you through where to find the huntsman Vostatek in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2.
Huntsman Vostatek location in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2
To find the huntsman Vostatek, you’ll need to travel to the boar hunting spot past the large pond to the north of his home and northeast of Vidlak Pond. As you approach the small stream connecting the two ponds, you’ll hear screams coming from nearby, begging for help. Head west across the bridge and look for a man perched in a tree surrounded by wolves. Check the image above the location on the map. This is the huntsman who has got himself into a bit of pickle.

From here, you’ll need to take out the three wolves to save the man. Make sure to block and to keep moving to avoid getting overwhelmed. Once you’ve got rid of the wolves, Vostatek will jump down from the tree. Go over and talk to him. He’ll ask you to carry him to his hideout to pick up Pepik, his best friend and horse. Agree to help him.
Load the huntsman onto Henry’s back then follow his directions to the fallen tree to the north, then on to the anthill, the birch tree, and then the marked tree and pile of stones. Finally, put Vostatek down in his hideout. Talk to the huntsman then get him some water.
Track down Vostatek’s horse Pepik
The job isn’t done yet. You’ll need to track down the huntsman’s horse, Pepik. Head to the marker southeast of the camp to investigate a post where the horse was tied up. Continue along the path to find a hunting horn. Press to find some horse tracks in the mud then some manure, a saddle pack, and more tracks. You’ll finally reach the poachers camp.
Here you can either take the horse and run off, or deal with the poachers then take the horse. Either way, it’s worth saving the game in case things go south. From there, take the horse back to Vostatek and follow the steps to wrap up the quest, which are easy to follow.
