Smooth-talking, thieving, and sword-fighting across Bohemia comes with its fair share of challenges. While this inherent difficulty comes as a result of developer Warhorse’s design choices and is the way KCD2 was meant to be played, it can be a long old slog. If you fancy speeding things up or giving yourself a helping hand, then Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 comes with a suite of console commands that allow you to get extra groschen, circumvent the strict saving mechanics, steal a horse, or even drastically reduce the difficulty of the lockpicking mini-game.

In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to set up console commands along with a list of all the options available. A word of warning: console commands do have the potential to absolutely curse your save and cause unintended consequences so use these sparingly.

How to enable console commands and cheats in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2

Before you can use console commands, you’ll need to do a bit of fiddling on Steam:

  • Make sure the game isn’t running
  • Open up Steam
  • Head to your Library, and right-click on Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 then choose Properties from the drop down menu
  • Tap the General on the left, then enter -devmode in the Launch Options field on the right

To use console commands, open up Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 and tap the tilde key (`), which is typically the key to the immediate left of the 1 key and above TAB. You can then key in any of the commands below and tap Enter to activate them.

You can also view a full list of commands by typing ?_ and tapping Enter. They don’t come with descriptions so many of them are quite opaque with many presumably linked to debugging and the like.
